Questions?

You are not alone. Even though curling is an Olympic sport, new players often have questions about the game itself and practical matters. If you can't find the answer to your questions, don't hesitate  to get in touch!

Sign up for a beginner's course or gather a group of 8-10 people for a curling demonstration.

Beginner's courses are held 2-3 times a month, usually on Sundays. Reserve your spot by email.

There is plenty of parking space next to the hall. Bus lines 2, 2A, 2B and 2C come quite close. Turku Curling Arena is located in the Impivaara Sports Centre, right next to the ice rink and football hall.

Almost all ages. Elementary school students in grades 5-6 can already move the stone well, there is no upper age limit.

You can. When throwing, you don't have to go into the sliding position, but you can use a push stick and throw from a standing position.

The hall has curling stones. You will receive a brush, a sliding base and a helmet from the hall. Bring indoor shoes or sneakers (= clean soles of sneakers). Playing with outdoor shoes is prohibited. You can use your own (cycling) helmet if you wish.

There is one in the beginner's course and in the demonstrations. Curling is played on ice, ice is a new element for many people. It takes some time, that you get used to it. When you start playing more, using a helmet is optional.

The temperature in the hall is about +7 degrees. It will be warm when playing, but dress warmly. The pants could be a little stretchy (= sweatpants) so they don't come undone when you slide.

Start taking turns. You can also participate in a curling advanced course or competitive activities.

New players should start with the Turku Curling League. The league has 2-3 league levels. All in all, nice games. If you can't get your own team together, get in touch and we'll find you one.

No. The series includes players of all levels. Curling develops really quickly, best by playing a lot. Come on in
